Greetings to all!

This is an open letter to all OpenFOAM users that wish to contact me asking about problems they are having with OpenFOAM.

First of all, please ask in the public forum. There is a good forum thread that explains how to get: How to give enough info to get help

Private messages sent to me should only be used if and only if:
  • You need to provide me sensitive information about a case that should not be provided to the public (nonetheless, it should still have a public thread associated to the private discussion);
  • You want to ask me to look into a thread or post you have on the forum, for which you believe I might know the answer or on how to find the answer.
  • You need the help of a moderator, such as posts that need to be deleted or moved.

WARNING: Do not expect me to answer in a timely manner. I may take anywhere from 1 week to 1 year in order to be able to get back to your question. Ever since I attended and collaborated with the organization of OFW11 in 2016, my free time has suffered a massive setback and I have a long backlog of unanswered private messages, posts and threads.

And if you still feel that I'm taking too long to answer your Private Message, then while you are waiting, you might as well also read this blog post in the meantime:
Why I contribute to the OpenFOAM forum(s), wiki(s) and the public community

If and when I have the time, regarding the questions that I might be able to answer, currently my level of expertise with OpenFOAM is as follows:
  • I can help you with problems in building OpenFOAM in almost any x86 and x86_64 platforms, namely for Linux and Windows. Other than these, I have pretty much no experience
  • I can help you with problems in building ParaView and sometimes with using ParaView (for example, if it's not opening the OpenFOAM cases).
  • I have very limited experience modifying solvers and utilities to include CFD related programming. But I do have some experience in modifying them to add some functionality that isn't standard to OpenFOAM. For example, making it work in Windows
  • I have a bit of experience with running CFD cases, but I will most likely complain about how you tried to solve your problem in a single step, instead of evolving gradually from a simpler case .
As for hobbies related to OpenFOAM are:
So, with this blog post, I hope that people won't be wasting their valuable time in asking me about things I know barely anything about or that I don't have the time to answer

Best regards,
