Looking for a consultant to work with us on developing a simulation process for electrochemical machining.
This is a multiphysics problem, involving 3D multi-phase flow, thermal and electrical fields, and mesh shape optimization. The physics/math are well defined, and good results can be achieved with minimal coupling. It may even be possible to initially use uncoupled electromagnetic and CFD solvers, to get useful approximations. Our goal is to develop a repeatable simulation process, for the optimization of process parameters and electrode geometry. While it would be possible to build this on commercial codes (COMSOL, ANSYS and CD-Adapco are capable enough), our preference would be to take an open source approach, both for cost and for adaptability. Elmer, OpenFoam, FEATool, CalculiX, and SU2 are all practical options. |
