Hello,

I am currently working on a FSI case with ANSYS Workbench/CFX.

I have a pretty simple cylinder representing a tank full with water and a vibrating membrane at the bottom.




I set this membrane as an interface for the ANSYS Multifield coupling. Then when I create the boundary conditions I define it as a wall with the following options:




Now I need to make the all device oscillating horizontally. So I put, for each boundary, the mesh motion option at "Specified Displacement" like this:




But for the membrane, I already have set the mesh motion option as ANSYS Mutlifield so I can't input the displacement.

> Have you any idea on how should I proceed to set both displacements in the same time (the vertical one from the membrane and the horizontal one from the all device)?

Hi,
I can see that u managed to have "mesh motion" option. my problem is kinda like urs but the thing is for my plate when I create a new boundry and then in basic setting i put "wall" and then define "location: interface", then ib "boundry details" I have no "Mesh motion" option. would you plkease tell me how it works?

Your problem, initially is a vibration/harmonic one.

You look like you have a solid container but you are trying to do a semi-FSI (between one-way and two-way fsi) and two-way fsi

Give a force to the solid container, so that they displace vertical and horizontal oscillatory motion desired.
Then give all FSI interfaces Ansys Multified.

From my imagination once you've done this you might have to remesh your fluid and or solid domains, because mesh distortion is too high (assuming you have enough oscillatory forces or the fluid is less denser). But this is a second part.
