Dear All,
I am using CFX 12 to model multiphase flow. My problem is when I used Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase model solver runs well but when used Lagrangian Particle Tracking it stopped with following error. Host computer: AMD2 Job started: Wed Oct 03 18:05:58 2012 Unable to check out 1 licenses: No license for ANSYS CFX Solver (All Models) co uld be found. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100247 has occurred in subroutine . | | Message: | | | | The solver is unable to continue because of licensing problems. | | | | A license for the following capability level could not be checked | | out: | | | | Full Capability Solver | | | | Please carefully examine the error message output above and check | | that: | | | | 1) The license server is specified correctly and is running. | | | | 2) An appropriate license is available for checking out. | | | | These problems can be checked using the ANSYS Client ANSLIC_ADMIN | | utility. For further troubleshooting information please consult | | ANSYS, Inc. Licensing Guide. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file | | has been created. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ End of solution stage. This run of the ANSYS CFX Solver has finished. I wonder that why this happens only I used Lagrangian Particle Tracking. Please help me. I am going crazy with this. |

Particle tracking requires a multiphase license option or a Full capabilities license option. If you only have the basic CFX license you will not have this, so cannot do any multiphase modelling.

Dear Glenn, thanks for the reply.
If I can do Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase model, then the license is Full capable. Isn't it? When I used Air= Continuous Phase; Dust=Dispersed Phase. Then it worked. When I changed Dust=Particle transport solid it stopped due to above error. There is no error or mistake that I can find. |

It might be the particle tracking uses a separate license. I do not know the details of CFX licensing (and they change it every release anyway), so you would have to contatc CFX support.
