Hi I am doing simulation with a curved wall that has a velocity and I know that the velocity components have to be tangential.

But because for this particular geometry I don't have any information on it I just chose a velocity vector that suited most of the wall, and my idea to get around it (just for this case) was to increase the tangential vector tolerance in expert parameters however although I have chosen 35 degrees (which is higher than the max difference) it still comes up with the error

Is there something else that has to be done? or is there a limit on this tolerance?

If you know the wall's shape then you should be able to define a function to make it tangential. Alternately use a 3D interpolation function to define the tangential direction. I think there is also a variable which gives the wall surface normal, but I can't remember it. You could also use the gradient of the wall distance variable.

Widening the tolerance means that your tangential velocity is not very tangential and would lead to weird convergence behaviour. Better to define the velocity to be tangential in the first place.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah I will stop been lazy and just do it the proper way, I just thought I could sneak this one through for a quick test.
