Hi,

Is it possible to import output result of Matlab(for example eps format i.e mesh. eps) in CFX?

This output result of Matlab is a mesh file.

Another question:

Is it possible to export output result of Matlab in CFX?

Thanks for your help.

best.

CFX-Pre has a number of mesh import formats it accepts. I am sure you will find a common one between matlab and CFX-Pre (but it won't be eps, that is a graphics format).

Also the ANSYS meshing products such as ICEM and FE Modeller allow you to import a whole heap other formats.

For export, look at the export options under solver manager.

Hi,

I first run a simulation with a very coarse mesh, and the imbalance is very low (0.01 kg/s). Then, I refine the mesh and run it again, and the imbalance increases to 250 kg/s!

How is this possible? That imbalance is close to my flow rate in the domain. How can this happen with the fine mesh? Shouldnt it happen when the mesh is coarse?

I believe I found something regarding this topic on the solution manual, although I am not really sure.

aja1345, how did you create the eps file? Do you have any documentation about this kind of format? Please tell.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't have created the eps file. This format is created by my friend in Matlab. We are working on a research project.
Do yo know what is the format correct for this case?

Thanks for your answer.

I investigated your statement. But I don't know what is the format correct for this case. Please guide me more.

I assume your friend exported a graph from Matlab? Is it a 3D graph?
*.eps is, as ghorrocks said, a graphics format (Encapsulated Postscript). I doubt that you can import an *.eps file as a mesh.

Why don't you describe what your goal is and add some screenshots and/or further details so that we can help you better?

MY friend has written a Code in Matlab(flow around an airfoil). This code is a mesh file as follows(Please see the following picture):

Now, I want to import above file in Fluent or CFX and run.

Thanks.

I see. But I don't think CFX Meshing can handle *.eps files. Two ideas though:
1) you could try ICEM / convert the eps into a file that ICEM can read.
2) you could try importing the vector graphic (eps) into a CAD program like SolidWorks and then go back into CFX Design Modeler/meshing from there. It might be that this only makes sense for the airfoil profile and you have to to the meshing in ICEM/CFX meshing anyway...

Do you have any idea that Which is the format of Matlab correct for importing in CFX or Fluent? Matlab can create the following formats:

I doubt that there's a direct way.
