Isolated Fluid Volumes

I have a problem regarding my solver crashing due to it finding 2 isolated volumes. I have read all threads from the past regarding this topic and cannot resolve the issue. I'm simply trying to get a hang of CFX through modeling a simple sphere in a supersonic flow. Attached is a picture of domains defined in CFX-Pre (I think) and where CFX-Post says the isolated volumes are. If I delete the ball entirely from play, the solver runs fine.
Past suggested solutions say meshing is a problem, but I cannot identify in the meshing program what an isolated mesh looks like. The mesh was entirely generated automatically by ANSYS. |

If I turn off CFX's check for isolated volumes it seems to run fine and I get what looks like reasonable data from CFX-Post, but I'm looking for guidance as to solve this problem without resorting to this measure because once I start modeling a rocket's body, I usually get ~7 isolated volumes and I feel ignoring them sullies the data.

Once the software stops with the error message, you should have a results file that you can post-process in CFD-Post.
You can then see what regions are isolated from others. Isolated volume means that a group of elements in the mesh is not connected to the rest of the elements by an interface, or some kind of boundary condition. |
