Kind Regards

More to the point has annyone ever tried this other than using CFX4 ? What are the long term plans for AutoReagas ?

Hi,

Yes, CFX 5 has been used in an EU project call EXPRO, where DDT scenarios using Hydrogen has been investigated. However we try to use similar approach as in EXPRO project but for Methan-Air mixture.

But we are having a few problems with the generation of the pressure wave.

Hi

Yes there are a lot of paper from this project.

That a look at:

Have you attempted explosion simulation in CFX ?

Had a colleague who tried this many years ago in CFX4.

Used the example of the advancing flame front throught the baffled tube as a starting point. I believe there are CFX papers on this. But as for trying this in the latest version of the code - no I haven't tried it. Interesting proiblem - how to accomodate all the turbulence effects. What are you looking to model ?

Hi,

Sofar I am using a rather simpel channel with different set of baffel arrangement.

Yes I know the CFX papers on this, there is also a report from about 10 years ago. (NB: are you inhouse?)

The model I use are both eddy break-up and the turbulence flame closure model combined with the DES turbulence model.

Sofar I have been working about 4-6 weeks with the simulation of explosions and have reached a break point now, I think.

However the simulation are rather time consumning compared to special explosion codes like Exsim or AutoReagas.

Reagards
