Dear All,
Please let me know is it possible to use tecplot for post processing CFX5.7.1 results? If yes, how to do that? If it is needed to convert .res r .bak files to ASCI and then back to binary files which can read by TECHPLOT, if so can u suggest any excutables, which have this capabilty. Please provide all needful information to use tecplot for CFX 5.7.1 post processing Thanks for ur time.. Regards Pradeep |

Hi Pradeep,
To get your results into Tecplot you need to set the following Environment Variable on your system: CFX5_EXPORT_CGNS_TECPLOT = 1 Then use the export tool in CFX-Solver to export your results in CGNS format. In Tecplot you will find the CGNS format (CFD General Notation System) under File > Import. Regards Paul |

i think old tecplot verions like 9.0 and some 10.0 verions can't successfully open CGNS files exported by cfx5.7 or 5.7.1. You can export data from cfx-post and write a short fortran code to transfer data file to tecplot file by yourself. It is not hard. Check your tecplot help file to know which format you need.
