Question Restart CFX Analysis from last time step

Sir i am performing the sloshing simulation i calculated the time to complete the simulation which is 3 days but when it reaches 2.5 day my electric power suddenly went off then on after couple of minutes
Sir i want to know is it possible to restart the analysis from the last time step where the power shut down occur please help me

This will be possible provided you created some full back-up files or results files while running. Then you can rerun using the -ini option when calling the solver.

thanks for your kind response can you please make it more clear in my situation when the analysis going on it also create the back up file folder but how to start from that back up as there is no option in cfx solver when i opened it as when i started it starts from beginning
please help me out

Did you write and .full or .bak files? Did your transient results you were writing have all variables? What results do you have? Just choose one of these files for your initial conditions if you wrote any. If you didn't, then you are SOL, and will have to start from the beginning.

Just be sure to write backup files during transient simulations.

thanks for you kind reply erik sir yes i have wrote the backup file but when it restart from that particular time step that is back up file it runs up to to simulation end time but when i check the results it only shows result from backup file lets say time step of back up is 120 it shows results from 120 onwards why is it so can any one here to help plz
