hi,
I heared from a person the other day that a model (I forget the model name) in CFX5or10 can automatically handel the switch between turbulent and laminar model in the same computational domain very well. Say in the same computational doman, some flow region is laminar, some is fully turbulent. So which model is better in CFX to handel such situation? K-omega? thank you. |

Hi Steven,
There is a transition turbulence model extension available with the SST model (which is, incidentally, a k-omega varient). You should review the documentation to ensure you use it correctly and that it does what you need it to do. Regards, Robin |

The SST(shear stress transport) Model can be applied in this situation. It is a mixer of k-omege model and k-epsilon model.Use k-omege model in the turbulent domain and use k-epsilon model in laminar domain.
