How to use CFX to simulate sand casting process ? |

I am trying to simulate sand casting process. How can I do that in Ansys CFX ? Please, can anybody help me in this? Thanks in advance !

You can simulate the casting problem using the solidification model. It is not directly available in the GUI but you can get details from the supports guys.
You would need to model the flow as multi-component mixture with the solid phase modelled as liquid only. use momentum/energy and turbulence sink and source terms. This is quiet tricky since these source terms are very non-linear and you have to follow some typical convergence criteria. This is a reason why this model is not included in the main GUI.
