Hi, Is it possible in CFX Post to make a .mpeg file from the 'chart' at different timesteps? I wish to see the time variation of a variable along a line. Thank you

Use some Perl to create a series of 2D charts at the different timesteps, and write out a .jpg or .png of each one. Get a thrid party software to combine a series of image files into a .mpg.

(I am at home so doing this from memory, hopefully this is right)

On the animation tab click advanced options. There will be an option there to save every frame as an image file.

From what i can understand and after implementing what you said, i think that all these operations are performed in '3D viewer' tab. But the chart we are talking about operated in 'chart viewer' tab. Animation feature only works with things happening in 3D viewer tab. So, this is not working for charts. Please correct me if i am wrong.

You are correct, I don't think the chart viewer has this option.

Isn't it just file/save picture? And then you can script it in a session file for each of your time steps.

It only exports in .csv or .txt.

ghorrocks didn't say 'export'.
In chart viewer, you can click 'file' - 'save picture' (Ctrl+p) and save it as PNG for example.

Alternatively, you can export the .csv and build your own charts in a programm of your liking (in case you need a vector graphic file).
