Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to confirm something;

I have to initialize velocity profile data as the initial condition for my simulation.

I just wanted to know which coordinates the velocity components belong to i.e. velocity u = X direction, velocity v = Y direction, velocity w = Z direction or streamwise= vel u, wall normal= vel v, spanwise= vel w. I looked in the documentation CFX-Solver Modelling Guide, p.102 of Release 16.0, which seems to suggest it is the former case i.e. velocity u = X direction, etc.

In my case, I have Z as my streamwise directional coordinate, so I ran it with my velocity values as vel w and the initial results seem reasonable, but I have trust issues with myself and wanted to see what the verdict was on here.

Velocity u = X, Velocity v = Y, Velocity w = Z is correct.

Oh, one other thing I just thought of; Say my inlet is at 0 and my outlet is at -1. Would it make sense for the velocity w values to get initialized with negative values?
