Hopefully a quick question: Can I simply export the CCL from a cfx/def file via command line easily? I'm trying to do this remotely, so opening the GUI is a pain, and often causes my remote connection to crash.

I'm not super familiar with the command line, and I'm sure it's doable via cfx5pre -line or cfx5dfile or something like that.

Thanks in advance.

edit: Of course hours after looking through help, minutes after the post...

cfx5dfile file.res -read-pre-state > output

This works for def, res and trn files:
cfx5cmds -read -definition input.def -text output.ccl

The only way to extract from a cfx file is using CFX-Pre. You might be able to do this from the command line, not sure.

You can do both: import and export

See File/Import/CCL, or File/Export/CCL

what are you trying to achieve that is not already supported in the software?

How do you plan to realize it by manually modifying the CCL and bypassing error checks and controls?

Not sure what you mean by editing CCl using CFX-Pre.

CFX-Pre is not an editor, but a creator of the valid CCL once you have selected several models, BC, and other details.

You can import your manually created/modified CCL and if it can be validated, CFX-Pre may allow you to modify it further; however, if invalid it will display a list of errors to be fixed before you continue

For import, just select File/Import/CCL from the top menu bar
