Sebastian Maier is on a distinguished road
Hey guys,

currently i am working on a transient rotor stator problem. in my model, consisting of inlet channel - rotor - stator - outlet channel, i have already simulated a Fourier transform with time integration. this has worked so far and the results agree well with those of a steady state reference simulation. Now i want to try a harmonic balance as transient method instead of time integration. for this i have defined the interfaces between inlet and rotor as well as stator and outlet as frozen rotor interfaces, because stage mixing plane is not viable. However I get some warnings and an error message before the simulation even starts. i will post this message below:

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
****** WARNING ******

This Transient Blade Row run may experience robustness and/or
convergence difficulties caused by the "Frozen Rotor" domain

Details of error:-

has been created.

End of solution stage.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be here?

PS: I have already asked a short question about this, where I thought that the problem is solved so far, but it did not quite work. someone said the periodic boundarys could be the reason but i checked them and found nothing suspicious, especially since there were no issues with it before.

Best Regards,

Sebastian
