Can ANSYS CFX solve multiphase flow with VOF method? Is this equivalent to the free surface model in the homogeneous model?

CFX can solve free surface simulations with the free surface model in the homogeneous model. It is not the same as a VOF model, but similar.

Thank you very much.
But I found that many published papers explain that they use the VOF method to solve two-phase flow in CFX. Is this appropriate? The VOF method is widely used.

The original 1976 publication which first defined the VOF approach and CFX's inhomogeneous model are similar in overall approach, but quite different in how they achieve it. If by "VOF" you mean a fixed mesh with a volume fraction equation and the surface is reconstructed from the volume fraction field then I guess you can call CFX's approach VOF.
