I want to define cavitation in francis turbine. I am using the Rayleigh Plesset method, but am not aware of what value to feed for Saturation Pressure. I would like to know what CFX understands with Saturation Pressure & what should be its value.

I have checked up but there is no information regarding mentioning saturation pressure.

Tutorial 19 - Cavitation around a hydrofoil: Under "Preparing a simulation with cavitation" - "Adding cavitation."

Saturation pressure for Water/Water Vapor @ 25 C = 3574 Pa

That's all the info I have.

Best of luck,

-Alex

Dear Alex, Thanks for the response, but how to reduce the value pressure at outlet, due to which cavitation incepts. I am still not understanding what saturation pressure means? Is it the pressure at which water vapour oozes out of water?

Regards, Amit
