Default ICEM-CFD : Problem while meshing
Posts: n/a
I am experiencing a strange problem while meshing in ICEM-CFD.

Here's what I did...

I have imported multiple geometries in IGES format. While importing geometries I merge the geometries into the existing one. After building topology and creating body (Material Point --> centroid of 2 Points), I proceeded to meshing, however only one the original geometries is meshed, the rest of the structure remain unmeshed.

I noticed that the body created after building topology only represented a part of the structure. The body was only created in the areas enclosed by BLUE topology curves. How can I create body which represent the entire structure?

Thanks Rick

If you have two 'regions' enclosed by surfaces, each of these 'regions' needs to have a Material Point (body) inside it. The tetra mesher only preserves mesh volumes where there is a material point inside (based on mesh connectivity).

Thanks. That was helpful.
