I have gotten quotes for CFX and CFD-Flo. I don't have a clue about academic pricing. A full version of CFX with maintenance fees (no other modules e.g. ICEM or turbogrid) is a little over 50k USD list price for a single seat. Other options such as HPCs (for multiple processors) add to the cost. I know there are long and short term lease options, but for that you should follow Lance's advice and get a hold of your ANSYS rep. Mine is very friendly and does a good job supporting questions about product specs and even getting demo licenses to test-drive various products.
