Hi all,

I am confused when I setup my case with dual fuel. In order to simulate RON92 condition, I set IC8H18 as 92% and C7H16 as 8%. Both fuel are well blended
and flowed into cylinder as premixed condition.

However, from the combustion model, there is only one fuel species available for selection, shown as attached figure.

So my question is: should I stick to default setting or switch to other combustion model?

If you have any similar experience, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi Shanghua

For the current combustion model (SAGE detailed chemical kinetics model), the species name here is not important for the simulation, you can select any species in your mech.dat file to pass the setup check.

So you can use SAGE model and put IC8H18 there for species name, and do not need to switch to other combustion model.

Sincerely

Lu
