Hi,

We can calculate torque through "tools-engine calculators-engine performance". Does the torque calculated by CONVERGE be the same as the engine output torque considering the mechanical loss power?

Hi,

No it's the indicated power. Since you did not model the mechanical losses, so it should be only the power from your 720 CA cycle.
To be complete if you have any value for your losses by friction and then recalculate the torque by adjusting the IMEP.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I didn't quite understand this.

To find the net work, do I just have to substract the gross work given by Converge to friction losses that I have on my own (in Nm also), and ignore IMEP in Converge?

And also why when I try to use the engine performance calculator I do get different duration values when switching from 360° calculations to 720° calculations? My simulation goes from -540°CA to +360°CA. But when using 360° calculations the duration is from -180°CA to +180°CA, and when using 720° calculations it goes from +211°CA to +360°CA. The gross work stays the same.
