Hello Everyone,

I would like to preface I am an undergraduate alumni who is interested in CFD. I am trying to get accustomed the many CFD software out there with my interest in aerodynamics and shock capturing. I have been learning and using StarCCM+ and Ansys (all student licenses) and open source software such as Openfoam. However I came across these visualization in the Convergent Sciences Youtube channel:

1). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2lvU-huXE
2). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYGJbhRHAzU
3). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfG0hL79gxY
4). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELfqrRBnL_8

And they all look interesting. I want to try to create similar simulations. I have a few of my own quadcopter stl files from my small fluent/starccm+ projects I can use. However here comes my confusion, I have a few friends/colleagues who have converge licenses that they would let me use (however I have to be siting infront of them using there pc) but I believe they are running the older V2.4 (I don't know if its V2.4.21 or smaller though). The videos talk about Converge 3.0. So does that mean these sort of simulations can't be done on older converge version? Also if they cannot, is it possible for me to still apply for an academic license to atleast try and learn the newer Converge?

Thanks

Hello Sultan,

It is possible to do those simulation with V2.4.xx as well. You/your friends should be able to get your hands on V3.0 at no additional cost.

I would suggest you to email sales@convergecfd.com and get an accademic license (its free).

Thanks,
