Hi,

I am using Converge 3.0, I use the "Full_cylinder_diesel_engine_with_induction_transi ent_RANS" case, I delete the original piston, and import my own piston. But a warning is found:
"Warning [1850] There may be an alignmenterror.
The maximum projected area of a non-moving or reloft triangle with the motion vector is 1.87e-04.
For properly aligned moving surface, this area should be less than 1.66e-08

Warning: [1851] Boundary 2 of type WALL is not aligned, and it is attached to boundary 1, which is moving.
The triangle of maximum alignment error is centered at -6.08e-02 -2.13e-02 -1.10e-01"

The Boundary 2 is the cylinder liner, and Boundary 1 is the piston.
Could anyone know what is the problem?

Thank you very much for your help.

Best wishes

Yaopeng

Yes - we cover this in our introductory training. When there is a moving surface, the adjacent stationary triangles need to be aligned with the motion. After you have imported the new piston, re-create the liner triangles in the exact correct direction (sweep or loft directionally).
Please consider attending the introductory CONVERGE training or contact support directly for instruction.
