Hello,

I tried to create a list of points using the Point parts tool.
Now what I want to do is to use them as probes.
The user manual tells that this is the purpose of this tool but I can't figure out how to use those points as probes.

Could you give me some help.

Regards,

Gaetan

I contacted the customer support and found a solution.

What you have to do is :

  • Use ElemToNode to pass the variables to the nodes
  • Then create>point parts with the part containing the variables
  • File > Export > Geometric entities > Flatfile with the corresponding part
You will get a data file containing the active variables at the desired coordinates.

I personally have a bug if I save more than one time step at a time, the customer support wasn't able to reproduce it though.
(Ensight 10.0.3e on Linux)

Hope this helps.
