Hi,

Does anyone have experience using FloEFD/SW Flow to determine aerodynamic/wind forces on structures/towers/components? As far as I know the k-e turbulence model is well suited for this application, and I believe FloEFD/SW Flow should be well suited for this. Just wanted to know if there are any users out there who has done this and obtained good results?

Thank you,
Chris

Hi Chris,

yes, the results match very good. There are a range of applications I have seen for such cases. This one for example used FloEFD to analyze the forces and pressure coefficients on gas station roof structures:

Unfortunately I cannot share the paper if you cannot find it somewhere on the internet.

Here is another one that doesn't show any loads but the velocity in a city model:

I hope this helps,
Boris
