Dear all,
Hi, I am simulating scour around a vertical cyliner subjected to steady current. Here is the parameters:
1. The mean velocity of the current is 44.1cm/s, and the inlet boundary is "Grid Overlay", which means the current is developed.
2. The diameter of the cylinder is 10cm, and the height of it is 25cm.
3. Before simulating scour, simulation of flow pattern around the cylinder without sediment is taken, vortexes can be found and the size of the grid is ok.
4. Other parameters of the sediment are shown in the attachment.
The problem is:
The process of scour is quite slow that no apparent scour pattern can be found around the vertical cylinder. In other words, the cylinder seems to contribute little to the process of the sediment scour, why?

In addition, long long time is gone but the scour pattern is still not apparent.

try to use LES model instead of RNG model

Hi
I have the same problem but my model is a pipeline, could you find out the reason of not appearing scour?
