Dear All,
I am a beginner of FLOW3D. I have problem with roughness when I try to simulate the effects of wave and current on sandy beach. How do I take into account the non-uniform surface roughness of seabed in Flow3D? Because the seabed in our study domain includes seagrass, sand, rock, sandy-clay and of course each area has different roughness. If you have experiences, please share them with me. Thanks in advance. |

You can define different roughness for different component types. So you can import the surface as multiple component pieces. You can also bring in a single raster that defines spatially variable roughness. You would need to create this raster in a GIS or CAD software and import as an .ASC file. There should be instructions in the help manual
