How is specifying the secondary phase particle diameter important, if the secondary phase is a Eulerian phase as well?
Does it have an effect on the volume fraction of the Eulerian phase if that is the only thing I am interested in?

In a single phase simulation, we do not specify the diameter of e.g air molecules/particles, why is it needed for the secondary phase in the Eulerian model then?

Thanks

Hi,

as far as I understand the Euler-Euler approach is dedicated to simulate two-phase flows in which one of the fractions is particle like component. The equations assumes that it have spherical shape. Gidaspow (1994) presents the equations for i.e. shear viscosity where this radius is present.

The diameter of the particles can have influence i.e. on drag force of granular phase resulting in different behaviour of this phase under given circumstances.

Dear All, please how to simulate flow of water and AL2O3 inside a tube as a mixture model?

Err, you have to be more specific. Depending on the fraction of the aluminium oxide you can simulate it with either the Eulerian or Lagrangian approach. See the tutorials for help, this is a simple case and you will find all the help you need.

thank you, but how can I get the thermophysical properties of the nanoparticles that must I define as a secondary phase in ansys fluent

Not sure what thermophysical properties are, but new particles types can be created in the materials tab if you know the exact particle properties or there is also a long list of particles to choose from.

At 293 K it nearest to 295 K the properties of Al2O3 at 295 K are:

Specific Heat= 765 j/kg.K
density= 3883 kg/m3
Thermal conductivity=40 W/m.K

if you need more about Al2O3 properties search for google about it
