Hi everybody, I am working on a project on the modeling of a fluidized bed for feedstock gasification using the eulerian model on Fluent.

I implemented the reactions in the model (gasification and combustion) which seem to work fine and I can observe the endothermic behavior of the gasification processes and the exothermic one for the combustion processes.

My problem is : without any heat transfer between the solid and gas phase, the temperature increase around 1500K when there is combustion in the reactor. As soon as I turn on any heat transfer model between the two phases, say the Gunn model for example, there is almost no temperature increase with the same problem setting as before.

I know I have to model heat transfer in some way between the two phases but at the same time I would hope to see a significant temperature increase due to combustion. I have to finish my project soon, so any help would be very appreciated!

Thank you

Hello, I do have the same problem. In my case, there is a gas phase at 2100 °C that is supposed to heat a granular phase, but there is not an increase in the temperature of the granular phase. I am using the Gunn model too. =/

Hi my friends,
I am trying to simulate a thing like a fluidized by Fluent, I used the Eulerian model. My problem is as you can see in the figure some particles extract from bed and goes to outer, How can I fix this problem?
