Hello, can anybody check my idea?
I try modelling a solidification/melting process for a moving alloy. Since I need to simulate the movement of solid thus the solidification/melting model in Fluent is not appropriate and I directly use VOF and define the solid phase as a high viscosity fluid.
I know that for the mass transfer between two phases I should use the macro DEFINE_MASS_TRANSFER. However, the example given by ANSYS doesn't consider the conservation of energy (it's likely a simplified LEE model).
So, my question is if it's reasonable to define the mass transfer in a two-phase cell between the two phases according to the heat flux from the neighboring cells because the convection effect is neglectable in the nearby region of the solid-liquid interface? Then in this way the mass transition rate is
m^{.} = \sum q /L
