Hi,

Sorry if this is a newbie question but I have been struggling to find the answer. I am doing a 2D analysis of a vertical axis wind turbine in Fluent. I basically want to find the power that the VAWT is generating so I need to determine the torque.

I know that the coefficient of moment is:
Cm=T/(0.5 x rho x v^2 x A x R)

So if I just want the torque can I pick reference values such that:
0.5 x rho x v^2 x A x R = 1

in which case Cm = T. Does this make sense or is there an easier way of getting the torque? I don't why it is not possible to get a value of torque directly.

Thanks for your help

Hi Alex,

try Report -> Result Reports - Forces -> Momentum
