Hello every one,
I have a question regarding the non-conformal mesh in fluent.

I was working with Fluent 14.5 which has the option called " matching " in the interface option, i was using this with non conformal mesh, now i am forced to work using Fluent 14 which hasn't this option, so what is the equivalent option in Fluent 14, should i choose any of the options or should i left it blank.

Thanks in advance

If the meshes on both faces are non-conformal anyway, the option "matching" from v15 has no effect.

Thanks flotus1 for your reply

The Following is mentioned in the v14.5 help:

When two interface zones do not match well (which could result from different mesh topologies, geometric misalignment, or the existence of large gaps), wall zones will be created on the interface. If, in such cases, you want to have only interior zones generated on the interface, it is best to use a matching interface. If the interface zones cover each other completely, and no wall zones are expected to be created on the mesh interface, it is recommended to select the Matching option.

In my case the i want to creat interface without having any walls in between, which is the case in v14.5 , but in v14 if i didn't choose any of the option a wall is created and it appears in the boundary zone.
I don't know if it is an actual wall BC or it is just a name, but if it is then all the calculation afterward will be incorrect since i am going to calculate the moment on the walls.

In Ansys 13, there is a tutorial for non-conformal mesh which mentions that some of the wall boundaries generated because of non-conformal interface matching, are empty walls and some not. They will be shown in different boundary zones.
