peppelmb is on a distinguished road
Hello everybody, I'm quite new at Ansys and I'm trying to do a 3D solidification simulation using Fluent. In particular, I'm working on an aluminum casting made from a sand casting process. I decided to use a specimen, as a representative part of my process, which has been reduced in geometry to its initial gauge length. As a result I have, as can be seen from the screenshot below, a cylindrical aluminum piece surrounded by a cast iron chill and the sand mould. What I want to figure out is how to do the simulation, starting by put the boundary conditions, passing through the mesh setting and finishing up with the computational setup.
Does any of you guys have a 'standard' procedure for this kind of work? Thanks in advance.
