Dear Fellows
I want to import a full mechanism of propane into fluent which contains 78 species and 1800 reactions. However the fluent gives me this error: Code:
heap limit reached. Cannot allocate additional chunks. Non-character element in list_to_string encountered in critical code section Mpt_read:failed:errno=10054 Unable to read the cmd header on the pmi context My system has 8 GB RAM. Is it possible to be caused from low RAM memory? Best, Bobi |

Hi,
I found this on the net, maybe is helpfull: In certain instances on Unix and Linux platforms, the heapmemory limit can be reached when: –Creating a large number of surfaces –Defining a large number of DPM injections To increase the heap memory allocation, start Fluent usingthe “-h10000000” option –This will allocate 10000000 storage –The default is 500000 PS: don't know if it's valid for windows also... PS2: I think it's not related to ram, but with the amount of I/O fluent can handle.. |

Greetings Daniele
I couldn't implement your hint in windows 7 Operating system. However, I am still trying to fix this error. Meanwhile, I found this link that may be favourable for others confronting this problem: http://www.eureka.im/1682.html Best, Bobi Last edited by babakflame; July 12, 2014 at 13:09. |
