Dear guys,
I am simulating the phase change phenomenon inside a flat heat pipe using cavitation model in fluent software. But the results are not desirable as seen athttp://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/mem...r+chamber.html The temperature inside the heat pipe is wired. The distribution should be like this, the lowest temperature shows up at the heat outlet, the highest temperature appears at the heat inlet, and the temperature in the channel should be in between. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. |

I have done some similar simulation, can you give some details (physics, boundary condition,...) about your simulation

Dear amine,
I sent you an email via this forum. I wonder if you have received. I am sorry to disturb you without asking for permission. I am simulating the evaporation of liquid water and condensation of water vapor now. I patched two rigions, one was for liquid water in the wick and the other was for vapor. Evaporation occurs at the wick-vapor surface due to the heat inlet nearby. Sorry,I did not found the attachment button on this pape. Best Regards, Bill |

Try to decrease your time step to have good convergence. In your picture you finish simulation at 1.5s I think it's not sufficient

Dear amine,
The picture you have seen is not finished yet. I have run the simulation for about 13s and it converged, but the temperature distribution is not good as can be seen at http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/mem...ults+pics.html |
