I'm trying to do circular pipe with periodic boundary conditions in 2D.
I generated a 2D mesh for axisymmetric simulations in non-dimensional coordinates which get interpreted as meters when imported into Fluent. I need to scale the mesh from meters to inches. Axis is properly at y=0 (+/- ascii error) and domain extends 0<y<1. I get floating point errors if I scale the mesh and try to run a simulation. The simulation works fine if I don't scale the mesh. The floating point errors occur only when using streamwise periodic boundary condition & when scaling the mesh. I can scale the mesh using normal pressure, velocity inlets without floating point errors. I have tried defining the periodic b.c. before and after scaling, the same floating point error occurs. I can just generate a new mesh in dimensional coordinates but does anyone know a general solution on how to scale the mesh within Fluent? edit* even with mesh generated in inches, same issues. So it seems there are some issues with the generated mesh and/or Fluent detection of axis. Any fixes? |
