Hi,

How the connectivity between cells/nodes in the output ASCII file of fluent.? Is it one after the another or random?. In mesh file, cells/ nodes arranged in random. I needed this solution information for further coding.. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had issues with this when i was looking at data. I had a structured mesh from ICEM. I found the cells/nodes are ordered in accordance with the blocking. Had to create a MatLab code to work with the data properly.

I am also not understanding the arrangements of cells/nodes in output file. Have you solved your issue?. I am planning to code in C.

Thanks

What data are you trying to record? Alternatively, you could write a UDF to save information to a data file in a format of your choice.

I need to find out the neighbours of each cell. Later, applying Least square method to calculate gradients

You could list the neighbouring cells (with a UDF using F_C0 and F_C1 macros) in a data file and do all of your post processing outside of Fluent. Alternatively, a simpler method would be to evaluate the gradients within Fluent, save them in User-Defined Memory and then export this data to a text file. Here is a thread discussing a method for the neighbouring cells problem.
