In general, aspect ratio should not exceed 20; but if you are speaking about aspect ratio of cells closed to wall surfaces, this can reach up to 200 (to be able to reach the correct y+ value).
You can use higher aspect ratio if fluid streams are aligned with the cell. Daniele
