Hello everyone,

I'm trying to do a project in which a fluid flows horizontally by centrifugal force,In this problem a oil tank(sump) is placed at the bottom and a rotating component which sucks the oil from the oil tank and supplies it to top of the component to a reservoir,so what I need to do is :How to create a two phase fluid in the oil tank,I need stepwise to fill the tank with two liquids of my choice, can anyone help me with this..

Hello pranaychowdary, you can use multiphase model to capture two phases..i recommend volume of fluid method for your problem..good luck

Hi hariswch2 ,Actually the part I do not know is how to create fluid volume in the bottom oil tank.

You can use PATCH option in solution initialization to define the volume fraction (0 or 1) for your fluid volume with dinemsions

Do I have to give any options in design module or while meshing, what should be the oil bottom defined in name selection. Is it given as inlet.

No need to give any options in design module...just you have to give dimensions of oil filled volume in PATCH option....it means that fluent will take initially oil is filled in that particular volume
