Awak is on a distinguished road
Hello Ansys users,

In the past I have been successful in running a few simple FSI cases in Ansys, but lately my focus has been on a reed valve simulation. As you know, reed valves open and close depending on the flow field, but their complexity lies in the fact that they seal or connect two fluid domains as they move. I am interested in the mass flow going through the valve as it opens.

My initial conditions are zero velocity everywhere, closed valve, and a given pressure difference between an "inside" and an "outside" domain.

Setting this pressure difference as initial condition is tricky is the valve is not closed, but I am well aware that this implies a lot of problems, like impact with the walls, and cutting/unifying the flow domains...

Could any of you, by any chance, give me any advice on how I should proceed? Would it be easier to keep a single fluid domain by letting a gap in the valve region? Is it still possible to modelize wall impact in that case?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Florian
