Talking pipe with sudden expansion results

Please someone explain to me what differences should i be able to see between using a uniform velocity profile at the inlet and a parabolic one for what concerns recirculation after the expansion step and attachment/reattachment of the flow.

Only difference is that, with parabolic profile you can reduce the pipe length. For uniform velocity, you will have to provide more (before step) length to allow the flow to be fully devolved (parabolic profile)

yes it can be. But how you can ensure this one in CFD simulation. Answer is use parabolic profile at inlet in that case.
