Hello,

I'm new with Fluent. I study on a simple analysis. The flow is laminar. Firstly, I generated the mesh. I consider that mesh quality is enough. The highest skewness value is 0.77. And the mesh number is 1300000. I solve continuity, momentum and energy equations. The residual values converge to a certain value. For example, the scaled residual value for continuity equation converges to 2e-03, for energy equation converges to 1e-06, for momentum equations converges to 4e-05. But after these values, the scaled residual values diverge and the solution does not converge. Is this condition acceptable? How can I solve this problem?

If the solution diverges then it is not acceptable right?

Perhaps you should use under relaxation factors to stabilize the solution and also when asking for help If i were you I would give more information like Inlet, Outlet, Phase, Numerical setup.

Thank you for your answer.

I make this simulation to validate my model, so I use only air as fluid. I use the quarter model. There are two symmetry faces. Three velocity inlets and two outlets. I defined the outlets as pressure outlets. I use first order upwind for the initial solution.

I use the default values for under relaxation factors. Should I change them?

residual behaviours is decisive to change under relaxation factor. URF's being decreased (all regarding variable <1 ) show convergence/divergence behaviours of scaled residuals in a short time.
