Hi I'm an engineer who is starting to use CFD because I'm doing some research at university.
I'm modelling a duct whose geometry is shown in the picture. mesh duct.JPG Through this duct flows a "Mixture" made of two species (let's call them X and Y). What I'm trying to do is to create some mass sources of the species Y, in order to reproduce the generation of that species, and its transport through the duct. I have no idea how to create this sources on specific points, defined by their coordinates x,y,z. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks! |

If you are okay with a volumetric mass source you can just enter the source in the Cell Zone Conditions dialog box. However, it seems like you want to use a point source or a profile source, in which case you're gonna need to create a UDF to do so. The latter is much more complicated, especially if you are new to CFD.

Yes, I supposed I've got to use an UDF to do so, because I've already used some UDF to define some material properties such as viscosity, diffusion coefficient, etc. So I think I have to use the macro "DEFINE_SOURCE (name,c,t,dS,eqn)", but the problem is that I don't know exactly how to create the source on a particular point.

Hello
Have you managed to do this, create a UDF for point source? Would appreciate it if you explained here. Thanks |
