Hi, I am new to the forum and also somewhat new to CFD. I was working on a project on analysing blood flow in aneurysmic aortas and was able to setup a solve the transient solution using fluid flow flow(fluent). Before solving I had created a solution data export for the following variables :
1. Static pressure
2. Total Pressure
3. X Velocity
4. Y Velocity
5. Z Velocity
6. Wall Shear stress
After soving I had opened the results in CFD-post and could successfully run the timestep animations of velocities, pressure (as contours), and wall shear stress (as a surface group in the aneurysm wall). However I cannot plot the variation of wall shear stress with time. I tried to create a chart and specify the type as XY-Transient or Sequence, but could not specify any locations.

Can anyone suggest me a method of this plot. I even tried to create a surface monitor for wall shear stress with flow time but it showed 0 variation throughout the iteration which is obviously not true.

Change the type of the plot as XY histogram under the General tab, and then your Y axis will be time axis. Under X axis tab you can select which variable do you want to plot.

Thanks. I tried the histogram plot. But it is showing only one value in each particular range. However in the surface group animation there are a number of contours varying with flow time.

The graph with which I want to compare is not a histogram looks somewhat like one of these:

Is there any way I can plot the values which are being animated in the wall shear stress (varying with timesteps) with time to get a curve like one shown above? Please help.

I hope they did, cause it's been 3 years

What was missing was that they needed to create a point (Location > Point) and then use that at the Location field.

Cheers.
