majid.masoudi is on a distinguished road
hi everybody
I want to simulate a rotating cone with 11000 hole in surface.
there is melt urea in this cone and Urea melt by centrifugal force turns to solid urea(prill).

I want to know what the output droplet size by varying the number of holes are changed.
This can be simulated with Fluent is?
best regards

mprinkey will become famous soon enough
You will likely need to model just a single hole with a detailed two-phase model with solidification with a body-force or rotating reference frame to approximate the spinning of the cone. You will need to do a transient analysis and simulate several droplet ejections. Usually, you will need to throw away the first droplet or two because initial conditions will be ad hoc. Then, you will need to post-process and calculate statistical data on the rest of the droplets in the series.

Do not even think about modeling the entire cone. You need to resolve the ejected droplet with several cells across in each dimension. And you cannot do anything to make this steady-state, so you will be looking at pretty long single simulation run times. And each time you change hole count, you resize the holes and you will need to rerun the simulation. It is doable, but it will be a lot of work, both for the simulations and for post-processing the results. This is almost always the plight of multiphase CFD analyses.

Good luck.
