Hi all,

I hope u guys can support me as I'm not experienced to Fluent as probably most of you.
During the first step of my investigation I would like to analyse the heat transfer coefficient on a simple cylinder as solid. The domain and solid both are rotationally symmetric. Note: It's just a stationary case and only temperatures are relevant.

I've modeled the assembly (Solid-Domain) in NX, named all the interfaces by using NS-manager and afterwards imported it to Ansys. A contact region was automatically defined by mesh. Additionally I've defined a cylindrical system of coordinates. After creating the mesh I tried to setup the boundary conditions. And here is the problem:

After starting the setup I've noted that my terms from the NS-manager are renamed to walls. The matter is now I can't find the correct interface as I would like to give a temperature to the surface of the cylinder. The interfaces are not highlighted by simple clicking on them. I've also tried to change the adjacent boundaries, but same issue as before... and btw I've already changed the type of the cylinder to solid.

I'm pretty sure it's a cinch for you, could you please support? Thanks in advance.

Best regards
Fari

If you have fluid zone and solid zone, you should have wall and wall-shadow between the zones.

I think that easiest way to find a wall in geometry is to draw a contour on it.
