Hello every one.
I have worked with Gambit for a long time and this is the first time I work with ANSYS. It's very strange to me and I find it difficult to creat a Geometry in ANSYS . I am trying to creat a surface. First I creat some lines from points. Could you please tell me how to creat a line from point A: x=0 ; y=0 ; z=0 to point B x=2380 ; y=0; z=0. Thank you guys so much |

You can do this in at least two ways in DesignModeler:
1. Pick a plane (XYPlane, ZXPlane or YZPlane) and choose sketching just under the plane tree on the left. Pick "Line" command from the list and simply click on two different points (which can be although must not be defined before) on the screen and you have yourself a line! The line can start from the origo and end whereever you want. After the creation, you can determine the length with the tools from sketching/Dimensions. 2. Alternatively, you can draw two separate points with the "Construction Point" tool from the Sketching/Draw menu. After this is done you can choose Concept/Lines from Points tool from the dropdown menus on the bar on the upper side of the window. The transition from Gambit into DesignModeler can surely be difficult due to the different logic, but you might actually enjoy using the DM environment after you have learned your way around it. //edit// didn't notice that the original post was almost one year old. Wonder why I found it at the first page of this forum section... |
