Hi,

I am simulating an incompressible fluid flowing through a volume, which is irregular in shape.

I am looking to find the "free stream" velocity all over the bounded surface of this volume in order to determine heat transfer coefficients through empirical formulae.

I was thinking there might be a way to post process local wall shear stress and somehow relate it to the free stream velocity. Or, use some inherent knowledge of the SST wall treatment to back-calculate the boundary layer height and free stream velocity.

Does anyone have an idea how this can be done?
