Manaplas is on a distinguished road
Hello, im a mechanical engineering student.
Im working on my thesis project with involves a water treatment plant that count with 4 modules, around a flow rate of 1250 lps in which approximately 5% of this mass flow is air; i was thinking in going to use the mixture model, this with the idea of that the air is a compound, that represent around 78% nitrogen, 21% hydrogen and 1% others gases. With that idea on mind i know that the hydrogen travels dissolved on the water, but this is not the case for the nitrogen, in matter of fact is wide know that with a high pressure the amount of hydrogen dissolveed is higher and a higher temperature the amount of hydrogen dissolved is less; the pumps are of low pressure, high flow rate and the temperature environmental; 0,7-0.9 psi, 300-320 lps per pump 4 in parallel and 25° c respectively.
Connecting the dots let us know that for my case the amount of hydrogen dissolved is quite low, because have low pressure and low temperature, facts that made me wondering is for this case is really a mixture, or at least is really worth using the mixture model? i additional want to reduce the calculation time; so what do you thinks guys? any advice or another models i should use?
P.D: the sharp tool with interfacial anti-diffusion is useful for this case or not?
Is my first time i actually work with real pipes and flows so, dont really knows if water-air can be really a mixture, but any help will be good.
